Questions you might be sitting with

It is completely natural to feel uncertain before reaching out. Here are honest answers to the questions I hear most often — and the ones I wish more people felt free to ask.

Theme A — Before You Begin

Therapy is not reserved for crisis. It is for anyone who is carrying something they’d rather not carry alone — and that includes everyday heaviness: a relationship that’s hurting, an anxiety that won’t quiet, a feeling of being lost or stuck or simply exhausted in a way sleep doesn’t fix.

You don’t need to have hit rock bottom to deserve support. If something is weighing on you, that is reason enough. I have worked with people from every background, at every stage of life — and the one thing they all had in common was the courage to show up. That is the only real requirement.

Honestly? Sometimes the line between those two things is very thin — and that’s okay. What I offer is both. A session with me is, at its heart, a conversation. A real one, with someone who is fully present and genuinely invested in understanding you.

If you’re not sure, start with the free session. There’s no commitment on either side. We simply talk — and by the end, you’ll have a much clearer sense of what might help, and whether this is the right space for you.

Then you start with exactly that. ‘I don’t know where to begin.’ That is a perfectly complete first sentence. I have never, not once, needed someone to arrive with their thoughts organised or their feelings sorted. We begin wherever you are. That is always the right place.

Theme B — Privacy & Safety

No. What you share with me stays between us — completely and without exception. I follow strict professional ethics around confidentiality, and your privacy is something I protect not just as a policy, but as a personal commitment. Nothing is shared with anyone — not your family, not your employer, not anyone — without your explicit consent.

The only exception, required by professional ethics and law, is if there is an immediate risk to your safety or someone else’s. In that case, I would discuss it with you openly before taking any step.

Yes. Always. I want to be very clear about this: our sessions are completely confidential. No notes are shared, no records are disclosed, and no conversations are stored on any platform that could be accessed by a third party. Your story belongs to you.

You are welcome to share only what you feel comfortable sharing. In our initial conversation, a first name is all I need. As trust builds — at your pace, never mine — you can share more. There is no pressure to be fully known before you are ready to be.

Theme C — The Process

The first session is a conversation — that’s all. I’ll ask you what brought you here, and I’ll listen carefully. I might ask a few gentle follow-up questions. We will not dive deep into anything you’re not ready for. By the end, I’ll share my initial thoughts on how I can support you, and we’ll decide together whether and how to continue. It is quiet, unhurried, and safe.

This is genuinely different for every person, and I won’t give you a number that creates false expectations. Some people find that 4–6 sessions bring significant clarity and relief. Others find that ongoing, longer-term support is what feels right. We decide this together — checking in regularly, adjusting as needed, and always at a pace that respects your life and your capacity. There is no minimum, and no pressure to continue if it no longer serves you.

Then you cry. There is no part of this space where tears are unwelcome. I would gently say: the moments when emotion breaks through are often the most important ones. You will never be asked to hold it together here. This is precisely the place where you don’t have to.

Of course. You are never locked in, never pressured to continue, and never made to feel guilty for needing a break. Life changes. Circumstances shift. You are always free to pause, step back, or stop — and equally free to return when you feel ready. This is your process, entirely.

Yes, absolutely. Online sessions are available pan-India and are just as personal, thorough, and confidential as in-person meetings. Many of the people I work with actually prefer it — it removes the travel, the unfamiliar space, and the visibility. You simply need a quiet place and a reliable connection.

This is one of the most honest questions someone can ask — and it deserves an honest answer. Sometimes, in the early stages of therapy, things do feel more tender before they feel clearer. When we begin to look gently at things we’ve been avoiding, there is an initial rawness to it. This is not a sign that something is going wrong. It is often a sign that something real is beginning to move.

I will always check in with how you’re feeling, and I will never push you further than is safe or comfortable. If at any point something feels too much, we slow down. Always.
